Why Adulting is hard

I  recently read an old article on the Vice website and it focused on how we are all finding it hard to grow up. It touched on what we think growing up looks like to the world and what growing up really is. The word adulating has taken over the word growing up with memes and twitter posts saying how hard it is. Apparently responsibilities are more and we realize that things aren't the way you were used to. Bills, school, work and FOMO have made adulting look hard

 

We cant deny that the world has formed a model or structure of what growing up looks like and the are marriage, a "stable job"  and kids, especially kids have blinded many into giving in instead of growing up.

Missing the model that is set out has led too many thinking that they haven't grown up and many will go around saying that they are still young and don't want to grow up ( I included :) ). One becomes an adult through experiences in life and challenging ones believes and if you look at growing up in that sense you will notice that most of us are still growing.

According to Susan Nelman, growing up is about thinking of ourselves but that is something most of us are actually too lazy or scared too do as often as we should and rather spend time watching tv or surfing the net (Do people still say surfing ?)   The article

further goes down to say that growing up is not something that can be thrown at someone rather it is something that one chooses and most of us give in to the models in stead of growing up

I believe everyone has a different story to write and growing up is something that we learn everyday. It doesn't stop.
